"Worst experience I ever had with an insurance agency. I just paid off the mortgage to my condo in Plantation and decided to get condo insurance. I googled insurance companies on Thursday, Juneteenth, State farm Nancy Wolf-Smith State farm agency came up closest to me and I called the number and I got a lady named Maria Barreto. We spent 30-40 minutes on the phone, she also tried very hard to sell me auto insurance! I have Geico which was 70% cheaper than her Quote even with the Condo discount? She quoted me a policy with $8,000 coverage for contents of my condo furnishings and $20,000 for building damages for the interior, cabinets, bathroom, kitchen, walls etc $20,000 was her quote for $60 a month for 12 months $730 something dollars for the year. I agreed to that and gave her my bank information to charge me the first $60 without auto pay. I got the final policy on the State farm app, it showed $2,400 for building damages not $20,000 a difference of almost 18,000 less. I then emailed the office and got a response the next day, today the 20th of June, stating that Maria's ,out of the office till Monday and that I would have to wait till then to talk to her. I did not like that response so I went down to the office in person and the door was locked and there was a sign that said they were closed for the day. I then called the 800 number for State farm and I was on hold for like 10 to 15 minutes ended up getting people in foreign countries ask for a US representative they kept putting me to people in Central America the Philippines blah blah blah I finally got somebody supposedly in the US of A, and they confirmed that, yes My building damages was only at $2,400 not $20000 as quoted to me by Maria Barretto!? I noticed when I was at the office there was a phone number on the door for emergencies and I called that number and I got a woman and she stated to me that Maria will call me back today. well guess what Maria never called me back. I then called the 800 number again to see if I could get a quote for the $20,000 on the policy if it was going to change anything or if it was just a mistake and I went through the many different countries BS again, till I finally got a US representative who told me she was going to call somebody from the office! I told her no bother they're not there she went ahead and put me on hold for 25-30 minutes, So I hung up. I called my bank and told them to reverse the charges out of my checking account for $60 because I did not receive what I was promised. I also had the bank, block State farm from charging me. I was not on an auto pay but if they are this dishonest and incompetent to screw up my first policy with them or to make a mistake that egregious of about $18,000 less difference in coverage then I don't want them and I recommend nobody should want them. It was my fault not to read all the many negative reviews of this agency I mean State farm the 800 people are just as bad as these people in these local offices horrible horrible service. I would hate to see what happens if I ever had to make a claim, I have been with Geico 27 years but they do not write condo insurance policies in the state of Florida otherwise I would have went to them I guess I'll just do without the insurance I have for the last 17 years."

"Unresponsive, Unreliable, and Unacceptable 6/4/25:The level of service I received from this State Farm agency was consistently disappointing and ultimately pushed me to leave. Despite multiple attempts to cancel my policy—starting with an email nearly two months ago, followed by several calls and even a voicemail—I received no response. I called again on May 28, was told to send a text (which I did), and was promised a reply within 2 days. Over a week later, my policy was still active. I had already moved to another insurer, who also submitted a cancellation request, but nothing was processed. I even had to have Amex block all charges from State Farm because I anticipated they’d attempt to charge me (which they did) despite my clear communication that I was not renewing. Because the payment didn’t go through, I’m now receiving notices of cancellation for non-payment — for a policy I had no intention of continuing. As you can see in the images I’ve attached: I included my call log showing multiple outgoing calls to the office over several months — never once was there an inbound return call. I shared a screenshot of the cancellation text and formal cancellation letter that I was told to send — again, no response. I attached the automated email reply promising a response within 24–48 hours, which never came. And lastly, I included the email where an agent casually "empathizes" with me over a $555+ increase in my premium, simply due to a change in vehicle classification, with no policy changes — and yet no real explanation or solution was offered. Just “I feel you.” This agency’s lack of professionalism, responsiveness, and follow-through is inexcusable. If you're considering working with them, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Update: 6/5/25:In response to Nancy, I'm happy to see that you're capable of timely responses to unfavorable reviews. However, you have ignored the primary issue here. I did not accept the options provided to reduce my bill because the options provided were to drastically reducing my coverage. That isn't a smart solution. You also failed to mention that the option your office provided (which i did select) was to have underwriting review my policy. This is the issue I highlighted as i immediately responded that I wanted your office to submit it back to underwriting and I NEVER received a response from your office after that 4/10 email (as screenshot proves). Just like your office claims to have never received my request on 5/28 or 5/30 to cancel my policy. So please just acknowledge and accept that your agency needs to work on responsiveness to your existing customers. As other reviews state, you guys do a great job getting folks into policies but do a poor job responding to these same customers when they're in need. If you think responding to your clients is not apart of your job, then you all are grossly mistaken. Anyone can create a policy. Its how you treat and show up for your customers that keeps them customers. 6/6/25: Finally received email from office, and despite supporting documentation that i requested cancellation via various avenues, I'm told that they did not receive any requests. Either way, was told my policy would be canceled. 6/11/25: still receiving email and texts (from the same exact number I was instructed to text my cancellation request to btw) that I urgently need to make a policy payment. Do yourself a favor and find another agent/office. If you're a current customer and need help, just call the 1800# andbhave them reach out to this office on your behalf or write a bad review. Either way, that's the only way you'll get a timely response."

"On Thurs 1/16/2025 I woke up at 5 am to about 2 inches of water in my home. Water was coming from the walls! To mitigate the damage I call an emergency plummer and a restoration company. At around 8:15am I finally got a hold of Statefarm. I have been with them since 2017, I have 3 vehicles, life & renters insurance. I also recommended family and friends to them. The agent on the initial phone call seems empathetic(wasn't from Florida of course). She took a video of the damage and I also sent over pictures & a list of damaged items. Which were mostly my sons clothing, shoes, towels and the sofas in the living room that sits really low. I also explained to the agent that both my husband & I had recently lost our jobs and was under considerable amount of stress! She assured me someone would call to follow up. I DID NOT receive a call until Tuesday 1/21, a voicemail from an adjuster Juan Mejias. Not only was this voicemail out of touch! But he told me to go get the items you see on the floor covered in that MOLD water washed and maybe I will be reimbursed! No one came to the house to assess the damages NO ONE! We haven't slept in 4 days, couldn't afford a hotel while the blowers dried the apartment. He never expressed any empathy in fact when I spoke to him on the phone on Wednesdays 1/22 he spoke to me as if I was a piece of trash under his shoes! After I called to cancel all my polices and I was told to call back when I get car insurance. NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE after that. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE people! These large insurance companies does don't care about you or your family! Our money is what keeps them! Do not do business with them! And I wil be telling this to ever social media platforms out there!"

"I gave Nancy's office a call this morning to discuss impending changes to my homeowners insurance. Joe recorded my information and told me that someone will look into it and get back to me. I called back to follow up at around 3:00 PM, but there was no answer, so I left a voicemail. A little after 4 PM, I called again and told Joe that no one had contacted to offer assistance. He told me that Flavia will give me a call back and reiterated that he does not deal with home insurance. Joe called me back this time to let me know that Flavia had sent me an email with further details and instructions—which I am unable to access—instead of phoning. I hardly ever call my agent unless I need help, and I never get a response."
